狐狸和乌鸦作文英语
The Clever Fox and the Vain Crow
One sunny day, I was walking through the forest near my house when I heard a strange noise. It sounded like a bird squawking, but it was a bit different. I followed the noise until I came across a funny sight - a black crow was perched on a branch, holding a big piece of cheese in its beak!
The crow was so proud of its catch that it kept opening and closing its beak to show it off to the other birds. Little did it know, a clever fox had been watching it from a nearby tree. The fox thought to himself, "If I can get that piece of cheese from the crow, I'll have a feast for sure!"
With a sly smile, the fox walked up to the foot of the tree and called out to the crow. "Good-day, Mistress Crow," he said. "How well you are looking today! Your feathers are so glossy, and your eyes so bright. I'm sure your voice must surpass that of other birds."
The crow, flattered by the fox's compliments, opened its beak to show off the cheese. That was all the fox needed. He quickly grabbed the cheese and ran away, leaving the crow empty-beaked and furious.
Moral of the story: Don't be fooled by flattery. It can sometimes lead to unexpected outcomes.
