The Life of Summer Vacation
The life of summer vacation is joyful and meaningful! This year is no exception. During the summer vacation, our whole family went to Beijing to travel. As soon as I got off the train, I couldn't wait to visit the famous Summer Palace. The palace is located in the western part of Beijing, about 15 kilometers from the city center. It took us about an hour to get there by car.
When we arrived at the Summer Palace, we were amazed by its beauty. The palace is surrounded by a large lake, and the architecture is stunning. We visited the Longevity Hill, which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area. The hill is named after the Longevity Hill in the Forbidden City in Beijing, which symbolizes longevity and good fortune.
We also visited the Kunming Lake, which is the largest lake in the Summer Palace. The lake is home to a variety of ducks and other waterfowl. We took a boat ride on the lake and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
One of the highlights of the trip was the Hall of Benevolence and Longevity. The hall is located at the east gate of the palace and is a beautiful example of ancient Chinese architecture. The hall is named after the benevolent and long-lived Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty.
In conclusion, visiting the Summer Palace was an unforgettable experience. The palace is a testament to the architectural and cultural heritage of China, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Beijing.
